How the day works
Three steps to your first dive.
The Scuba Discovery runs from about 9am to 2pm.
Dry lesson
Your instructor walks you through how scuba equipment works and the basics of breathing underwater.
Shallow-water practice
Practice your first skills in a controlled setting: the pool at Casa Valeria Boutique Hotel or the beach.
Your first ocean dive
Dive on the reef with your instructor, to a maximum depth of 30ft.

Good to know
- You need to be in good health, with no medical conditions that could stop you from diving
- You don't need to be an Olympic swimmer, but being able to swim is a must
- It's a non-certification experience

What are the requirements?
You need to be in good health with no medical conditions that could stop you from diving, and have some comfort level in the water. You don't need to be an Olympic swimmer, but being able to swim is a must.
Where does the pool session happen?
Pool sessions take place at Casa Valeria Boutique Hotel, or on the beach.
Can I continue to become certified?
Yes. If you start with a Scuba Discovery class, we'll deduct what you paid from the SDI Open Water course price.
