Scuba Diving in Sosua / Dominican Republic
The scuba diving here in Sosua on the beautiful North Coast of the Dominican Republic is very underrated. Sosua Bay has great dive sites for beginners and some more challenging spots for experienced divers. All of the dive sites are between 2 – 8 mins boat ride from the beach. We have very minimal tide changes and little to no currents. Visibility can be incredible and we dive year round with water temperatures averaging 26c/80f.
We have some great wall diving such as the Airport Wall, a nice deep wreck called the Zingara and plenty of shallower dive spots with an abundance of marine life such as 3 Rocks & the Puntilla Wall.
Expect to see a lot of smaller marine creatures such as spider crabs, flamingo tongues, lots of yellow tail snappers, sergeant majors, parrot fish and wrasse. We often find seahorses, nudibranch & turtles. Between December & March is whale watching season & these incredible creatures pass right through Sosua Bay on the way to breed in Samana.
Please don’t come here expecting to see tiger sharks and manta rays but what we do have is nice, easy, pretty diving within a matter of minutes boat ride from Sosua Beach.
Come & join us at Authorized SDI – Scuba Diving International Dive Centre ‘Superior Dive Sosua’. We don’t cater to the masses specializing in private SDI & PADI training courses as well as guided dives in small groups. Your safety & enjoyment is our #1 priority.
