Here at Superior Dive Sosua one of the most popular excursions that we offer is our ‘Scuba Discovery Class’. These one day introductory to scuba diving programs are designed for you folks that are here on vacation & haven’t got the time to commit for a full ‘Open Water Diver Course‘ or for the people that want to experience the underwater for the very first time but are unsure if scuba diving is for them.

We we do is offer a safe & fun one day scuba diving program run by our dedicated team of professionals that gets you out diving in three easy steps –

1. Dry lesson in the dive center explaining the basics
2. Shallow water or pool training session & skills practice
3. One dive in the ocean to a maximum depth of 30ft

So let us explain how your day will play out. For a ‘Scuba Discovery Class’ the start time is 9am & expect to finish up by 2pm. We start off with getting you fitted for equipment & a dry lesson in the shop explaining the basics. We then head for a shallow water skills practice either from the beach or at the swimming pool at the beautiful Casa Valeria Boutique Hotel. Once you are comfortable we will head out on the boat, normally to an area called 3 Rocks, to make your 1st ever dive. At the start of the dive we slowly descend to a depth of 10-15ft & we don’t go any deeper than 30ft during this experience. .

The cost is 100usd per person & this price includes everything from your equipment rental through ‘private’ instruction & one open water dive. We even include some awesome photos & video clips at no extra charge.

The only requirements are that you’re in good health with no existing medical conditions that may stop you from diving & that you have some comfort level in the water. You don’t need to be an Olympic swimmer but being able to swim is a must after all we will be in the ocean.

After you finish your Scuba Discovery Class with us at Superior Dive Sosua you have the option to take this experience & turn it into a full SDI – Scuba Diving International ‘Open Water Diver License‘. We will even discount the money you paid for your introductory class from the total course price meaning that for just 375usd more you’ll be licensed to dive anywhere in the world up to 60ft. All we would need to do is get you signed up for the e-learning program, do some more skills training then follow that up with 3 more check out dives. Which could be done in as little as three more days.
